On August 9th, Organon Korea, a leading pharmaceutical company, announced that it hosted the ‘2023-2024 Wage and Collective Agreement Signing Ceremony’ at its Gwanghwamun office in Seoul. The event saw active participation from the Organon Korea Labor Union, marking a historic milestone in labor-management relations. This remarkable accord stands as the inaugural collective agreement forged since Organon Korea's inception as an independent entity in 2021.

The agreement encompasses notable improvements, including augmented wages, extended vacation entitlements, enhanced meal allowances, financial support for personal and family health assessments, and support for family-related events. Organon Korea and the Organon Korea Labor Union mutually commit to nurturing an environment of consistent communication and cooperation between the labor force and management. This progressive approach aims to synergistically foster shared growth and collaboration in the times ahead.

So-Eun Kim, the representative of Organon Korea, voiced her thoughts, stating, “Over the past two years since the company’s spin-off and establishment, we have achieved significant results. This agreement is also meaningful in that it establishes a foundation for continued growth and mutual prosperity. We will continue to build upon mutual trust and create a positive culture unique to Organon Korea.”

Jung-Hwan Moon, the chairman of Organon Korea Labor Union, remarked, “By reaching an agreement not only on compensation and welfare expansion but also on additional clauses regarding employment stability, an environment has been created to foster the growth of both the company and individuals.” He added, “The labor union will continue to make every effort to enhance working conditions, ensure employment stability, and strive for mutual prosperity with the company.”

Meanwhile, in October 2021, Organon Korea was awarded the ‘Excellence Award for Labor-Management Culture of the Year’, presented by the Korea Certified Public Labor Attorneys Association. Subsequently, in December of the same year, Organon Korea received the ‘Family-Friendly Company Certification’ from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
